NEW TO BOARD
I am under a alias, I have family on here and not ready to come out yet. If anyone is wondering who I am, FM me and I will let you know who I am.
I have many questions and very nervous.
I was just diagnosis with a unicornate uterus (half a uterus, which brings pregnancy complications, ie: not enough room for baby to grow) and my one and only tube is blocked. All these things are being thrown at me at once: surgery to try to unblock the tube, high risk pregnancy, high chance of miscarriage, possible IVF.
My husband and myself are trying to take things one day at a time and take things as they come.
My main concerns are cost of IVF, the time it takes, injections, many doctors visits and my reaction to it.
Does anyone on here have any experience with a unicornate uterus? As per the dr this is a rare condition, only affects 1-2% of people.
We are not actively trying to conceive, but with all these roadblocks, we may start sooner than later. I am in my mid twenties an not sure if this is something we should do soon…. As you can see I am very confused and upset
Sorry this is so long, but TIA!

Re: NEW TO BOARD
I don't have a unicornate uterus but I do have one blocked tube. And although I am in my second cycle of IUI - I know that IVF is an inevitability.
Welcome to the board and hopefully some of the wonderful ladies here can help ...

Re: NEW TO BOARD
I have different issues than you do but I just wanted to say welcome and I hope you find some answers. I too may be heading down the IVF road early next year. Have you spoken with your insurance company?
Good luck...

Thank you! I have spoken with the insurance company and they will cover 80%, up to a life time max of $15,000..... From what I have read, that is probably only enough to cover one round.
Good luck to you!

actually, it should cover advanced IF procedures...the other things like testing and b/w won't count under that 15k, so it goes a loooong way!
good luck!

Re: NEW TO BOARD
Welcome and of course, I hope your stay here is short.
As Lisa said, a lot of the testing and sono's for IVF are not part of IVF expenses so the $$$$ will go alot further than you think.
