Has anyone heard of a trigger not working?
I had my trigger on the morning of CD12 - so I should have ovulated sometime on CD13. Well I just got AF today - which according to when my trigger was done is 17 DPO.
Also, I chart - and according to my chart I didn't ovulate until CD17 - which makes more sense in terms of when I got AF.
I asked the RE this morning if it was possible the trigger didn't work and he said it was highly unlikely.
Anyone ever heard of this?

Re: Has anyone heard of a trigger not working?
My period started only 7 days after my trigger. I ovulated, but my progesterone was too low to sustain the endometrial lining. This cycle I will take progesterone supplements starting two days after the trigger. Did your dr check your progesterone levels?

Not this cycle - but he did last cycle - which I was doing a natural cycle. Last cycle my progesterone level was very good.

Ask him to do another progesterone check...the trigger may have thrown off your progesterone levels which caused AF to come early.
ETA: You shouldn't bother charting while taking drugs/triggers...they throw off your temps and the charts are not reliable.

Maybe I wrote my original post incorrectly - AF showed 3 days later than usual.
Sorry for the confusion - any thoughts?

Re: Has anyone heard of a trigger not working?
When you trigger - you ovulate 24 -36 hours after taking the trigger, so the timing is just about right then. ETA: if you ovulated on CD17 (4 days after trigger) that means your LP is only 12 days which would still mean that there may be a progesterone problem.
My guess is you ovulated 36 hours after trigger (almost 2 days) and your LP is 15 days which is excellent.

Actually no. I had a 17 day luteul phase instead of my regular 14 days.

I think Gerty is trying to say that you O'd 36 hours or so after your trigger on CD 12, so actual ovulation was on CD 14. AF then came 15 days after that, right? And 15 days is a good LP. Sorry if I'm not getting this right.
