Re: nursing?

I started in Nursing School (SUNY Farmingdale), when I graduated college. IT WAS TOUGH! I was reading every night, but I was also taking my undergrad classes too (12-15 credits).

I am not sure I would want to commit to anything with a newborn and be too overwhelmed. Is this your first baby?

Re: nursing?

Not nursing, but I work f/t and am going for my masters now. My classes are distance learning. It is a lot harder to do this when pregnant because I am always so tired. I am halfway through so will have about months to go after the baby is born. It is so hard now, I can't imagine how I am going to do it then with a baby. Online has it's benefits but there are many negatives also. There is sill as much work as an in-person class... for my program anyway.

i actually took an online course once and it seemed to be ALOT more work than actually going to class..i just figured with a newborn maybe i should so i didnt have to take time off school but maybe i should just wait

The program was great (mind you that was in 1994Chat Icon ) I don't know if it has changed, but at the time they put you in the hospital from the beginning, which is what I wanted. I wanted to know right away if I would like it. In the end I wound up switching majors, with only 1 semester to go, because Nursing was not for me! But I still wonder where I'd be if I had finished.

Well, again that was 1994, when I was right out of high school. and even back then it was tough to get into all the programs in the area.

I would up switching to Exercise Science. So luckily ALL the sciences transfered for that degree! Then a few years ago I returned for my masters in Physical Education.
