oncoming labor?

I was wondering if anybodys prelabor lasted over a couple of weeks and when they decided it was time to go to the hospital.

I think it can last for awhile...going to the hospital depends on how far along you are I think---if its too early(pre-term labor) you should call your dr. and they will make you go immediately most likely...if you are on time I think they say to wait until the contractions are 5 minutes apart from start to start or if your water breaks...but either way I would check with your doctor.
