so... what do we think?
Woman to Be Lashed for Allowing Students to Name Teddy Bear Mohammed
personally, i think that the term "offended" is 1000% overused and abused. she was trying to teach her students a lesson, not blaspheme Islam.
but... i wonder if she had allowed them to name it jesus, would it have had the same impact/outcry? or is this simply a result of the sudan having outrageous, outdated, laws?

well the laws out there are just so strict---that even though we think its insane to give her 40 lashes for naming a freaking bear--they take a serious offense to anything that they believe insults their god.
i think she was just trying to do something for her class and that was it--she shouldn't be punished so severely for it!

Since it was the class of students who named the bear, maybe they should whip their parents?
What I think is it's over the top. However I live here. If I lived there, I would abide by their laws. Aren't there a ton of children named Mohammed? Why aren't their parents being held accountable?
