Ford Edge/ Ford Escape

Can anyone give me any info about these cars? Is one better to get than the other. We have a 6 month old, and plan to have more children in the future. Thanks!

I LOVE the Edge! the difference between them is that the Edge is a crossover. whereas the Escape is the smaller version of the Explorer, a "real" SUV.

Re: Ford Edge/ Ford Escape

We are thinking about these cars for when our lease is up next summer. I like the edge, but the escape comes in a hybrid, so I am leaning towards that.

Re: Ford Edge/ Ford Escape

I've had the Escape and I have the Edge now. I think the Edge has more room in the back for storage (strollers, etc) and it's just more comfy.
The Escape really rides like a truck.

I'm glad I now have the edge.

Re: Ford Edge/ Ford Escape

My parents have the FreeStyle, which is last year's edge. A little bigger. It's great! It takes a little getting used to when driving it because it feels like a car and doesn't really drive like a truck until you are on the highway and need to pick up. It's not that great with the pick up, IMO.

Sorry, don't have the Escape so I have no feedback on that.

I have the Escape and I can't wait until this summer when my lease is up. I have one DC and wouldn't want it for two. I think it drives crappy and the pick up stinks! JMO

A friend of mine feels the same way. She is trying to get out of her lease early. She hates it and has had a lot of mechanical issues with it.

My brother had the Edge as a loaner while his truck was getting fixed. I didn't like the what seemed to be huge dashboard but overall the car was great!

Re: Ford Edge/ Ford Escape

I think the Edge is a lot nicer....we looked at the Edge, the Escape and then the new Jeep Liberty. I thought the Escape was kinda pricey and for the money, Liberty was nicer and cheaper...just my thought. Edge was a bit big for us but very, very nice. Mind you, the Escape we saw was bare bones, fabric--nothing "extra" or special edition. (we got the liberty 08)

Re: Ford Edge/ Ford Escape

my SIL had an Escape and liked it but when #3 came along she could not really fit 3 carseats and get to the buckles. She had to get rid of it. I have an explorer and it has much more room. I was told by Ford that the edge is just as big as the Explorer.
