My Grandma is now in a rehab center
And she is doing better Please keep praying though!
Last night we went to visit her and she said how lonely she was. My mom said "ok we'll see you tomorrow" and gma said "I wish it was tomorrow already" I wish I could sleep over so she would be so lonely

She'll like it! Rehab places tend to hae lots of social events for the residents- bingo, red hat society, crafts, etc.
I worked in a nursing home for a while, she'll make friends there.

She'll like it! Rehab places tend to hae lots of social events for the residents- bingo, red hat society, crafts, etc.
I worked in a nursing home for a while, she'll make friends there.
Unfortuntely she is paralyzed on one side so she is really confined to a bed all day. There are so many activities that I know she would LOVE but she can't get to. She is in bed all day long and she hates it

They aren't getting her out of bed, in a wheel chair? Cause they should be. Lying in bed all day is a big no no.
At the NH where I worked, we had several patients in permanent vegative states. They all got put in wheel chairs and the activites coordinator would wheel them down the hall to things, even if they couldnt really appreaciate it.
Just to reiterate, she should be getting out out of bed. Leaving her there, paraliyzed on one side or not is a red flag. It puts her at higher risk of pnuemonia or bed sores.

She gets out for PT and OT but that is it as far as I know Thanks

I agree! I never worked in a rehab/nursing facility, but have spent MUCH time in them....
It's definitely best she's out of bed & at least being wheeled to activities, etc. for her mind & spirits!
Good luck Kathleen....I've been following your Grandma's story...I been keeping her in my prayers.

Maybe she will make friends in rehab. At first it might be hard of course. I hope she gets better soon.

Kathleen-
I am happy she is doing better and is in rehab. I agree with the other ladies- they need to have her up and out of bed. It is the best thing for her.
