Re: Did anyone see the sign outside Nordstrom?
How much do you want to make a bet that they will have employees working ON THANKSGIVING to decorate for the "new season"??

why would they put a sign up saying that though?
they shouldn't have to explain themselves
Why does PC Richards have to put a full page ad in the paper every Thanksgiving saying they wont be open because they respect their employees?
TO make a point!!

And to advertise.
I'm NOT saying it's wrong - just saying it is what it is, mostly marketing.
Being closed on T-G or not decorating until after T-G isn't, but the signs change things.
Like I said, I have no problem with it, but it is marketing for the company! (ETA - I mean I have no problem with using this as marketing... I didn't say that very clearly! )

They're still sombodies employees--but I guess you know that, going into that sort of job. Somemangers probably have to be there to oversee it too.

that's retail- it comes with the territory
when I worked in a resturant I had to work almost every holiday- it *****- but people go out for thanksgiving dinner - so someone has to serve them
I am sure they are compensated with another day off

We have a friend who works in California - he makes all of those decorations you see in the malls and stores, and his company comes over and decorates!
