any suggestions?
ok so it's going on 48 hours and i still feel like crap. I am so mad at myself that i can't shake this. I just broke down in front of my mom and she asked me about adoption--- I'm just not ready to go that route. On a positive note, DH is asking all of the ppl he works with (he's freelance) how much they pay for medical for them and their families and who it's thru. I honestly would find a way to pay the 2800 a month if it meant the possibility of getting pregnant--- i have the feeling that most of the other insurance plans we've come across don't cover infertility. on that note, what would you do if you were in my shoes?

Re: any suggestions?
First of all, are you positive your DH is on board with IUI/IVF?
If that wasn't an issue, I'd try injectibles/IUIs until your insurance runs out at the end of the year. After that, I'd look into IVF. I wouldn't pay $2800/month for insurance though - most IVF cycles run $8-15K so you might be better off paying out of pocket, or taking out a loan - there are programs that work like credit cards for medical loans. You could pay over time instead of basically making the equivalent of a mortgage payment to an insurance company. Also, have you looked into the New York State grant? If you qualify, you can apply and get assistance that way.
Are you going to have any insurance coverage at all after the end of the year? Your insurance covers ovulation induction now, right? What if you did cobra and maybe your current insurance might cover at least the meds for an IVF cycle. Good luck whatever you decide.

Have you looked into the freelancers union? They offer health insurance to freelancers at a reduced cost. i just looked and it would appear that IF is covered through HIP and the other plan (even though the other plan has a 5K deductible. Here's the link: Freelancers Union Health Insurance
