What moving supplies do I need?

I can get boxes from work- pretty large ones from the cafeteria and smaller ones from the school office

Besides tape and bubble wrap/ paper - what other moving supplies do I need?

Thanks!

FYI- We are moving ourselves with a U-haul rental and family help. We currently live in a 1br apt.

Try to rent some moving blankets/quilts from uhaul so you can wrap furniture, chairs etc. If not round up some old blankets, sheets and comforters.
You will also need some cold beer and a bottle of motrinChat Icon

The only other things I can think of are a couple of big magic markers for labeling boxes and heavy duty plastic garbage bags. I used them to make garment bags for clothes already on hangers.

Good ideas...especially the blankets and garment bags! I'd never have thought of that.

Newspaper is a life saver. I used Bubble Wrap for everything when I first started packing, but that can get expensive, Newspaper does the trick just as well.

Mark every box with it's contents & be specific. Just putting "Kitchen" can be crazy because by the time you are done you will end up with 15 "Kitchen" boxes.

Good Luck

The specific markings on boxes are a good idea. We actually kept a list of what was in each box (very general, we didn't list every little thing), and it helped us when we unpacked since this process took a few weeks. There were a few times we were looking for something and this helped.

Besides boxes and tape, a marker for the boxes and some bubble wrap, though I agree newspaper is fine for most things, and we also used our linens to wrap some items.
