Does anyone's dog...
LICK themselves incessantly??
I mean, she NEVER stops... it is mostly her tail. She will just lick it and LICK it until her beard is SOAKED and her whole butt is SOAKED too!
Sometimes the LAPPING and licking is LOUD and DH and I are trying to sleep and we have to yell at her to stop!
Is my dog the only weirdo that does this and WHY does she?

Sometimes I think Tiny is a cat. He licks himself all the time. His stomach, chest, legs, and other things lol....

Spray a little bitter apple where she is licking...only if it's incessant. The taste is nasty and they will stop licking.
You don't want to let them continue to lick one spot cuz they can get hot spots, wear away the fur and get infections.

Daisy licks her paws periodically when bored and she's too lazy to get her bone, so we get it for her to chew on.
She does sniff and lick her hoo-ha too! (Yes, that is what we call it!!!)!

If they are licking their b-hole it could be a problem with their anal glands. We are at the point where we wonder if Oscar should have anal gland surgery. We take him to get them expressed and he is back to licking within 2 weeks! He also licks his paws. That means that whatever is on his butt gets on his paws, too!

Kasey licks herself, yes at night while we're trying to fall asleep. Or if she's just laying there and gets "bored".
We tell her to stop and inform her that she is NOT a cat!!!!

YES!!! Jessi is SOOO loud when she licks herself that I have to do the same at night! She wakes me up all the time.

lol YES my dog does it... i was yelling before for him to stop, the sound grosses me out

Cooper does this... it drives us crazy. We asked the vet, he said it could be two things. Either he's soothing irritated skin, or he's just calming and comforting himself. Who knows. Coop's a wierdo anyway

Jake does that all the time. Usually in his groin area. It is licking and sometimes I think sucking too! It is very loud and annoying!!!

We tried bitter apple when Char was teething as a puppy. We put it on the chairs she was attempting to destroy. Well, she LOVES it.  Who would think they would ENJOY that taste?!! It attracted her to the chairs MORE so that is not something that will work for HER but I don't think it is a "problem" that will lead to any health issues. It does seem like she is doing it to comfort herself or out of boredom though. It's definitely not her b-hole because I can actually see her just nibble and lick her little stub of a tail- she loves it. I did ask her Doctor and he said she is fine- just something weird she likes to do.
I wish she wasn't big enough to reach her tail
I'm glad I'm not the only one with a dog that does this though!

yes he licks his paws all the time and sometimes he does it while leaning on me and my pants or shirt in that area are soaked, its so annoying

My dog does lick her paws a lot...until they are soaked any anything that she is laynig on is soaked as well. She has been licking her side too, and I notice she has some dry skin, so I started giving her Omega-3 for dogs twice a day and it seems to have helped!!!

OMG yes, SO grosses me out. Probably because I am pregnant, but the sound after a while makes me gag, especially when I am trying to sleep. DH thinks I'm nuts.

The sound is terrible. I can't stand it. I usually have to yell at her to stop.
There are times the she is shoving her paw so far in her mouth that she chokes! It is pretty funny to witness.
