Heartburn?
I don't usually get it, but for some reason I've had crazy heartburn for the last 2-3 days, and it's starting to get annoying I'm wondering if it's something I'm eating? It's particularly bad when I drink water.
For those ladies who experience it, what are the biggest offenders in terms of food? What kind of over-the-counter remedies are there?

Re: Heartburn?
for me the biggest offenders are onions, wine, and tomato sauce
drinking water usually helps, as well as tums

Re: Heartburn?
wine, tomato sauce, water or just simply drinking or eating to fast and then lying down or chocolate at night and lying down bc chocolate is known to relax ur scphincter (sp?) that closes the throat and keeps the acids from coming up
i have acid reflux so i took meds for a while i recently took myself off and so when i have an episode i take tums and when its really bad i take mylanta it coats the throat

I wish, but sadly I don't think this is my month.
I haven't had any tomatoes or onions, but I do drink a lot of water during the day. But, I've been doing that for months now I have been doing WW for about 5-6 weeks, so I'm eating healthier - more salads, veggie sandwiches, Kashi snacks, etc. Can whole grains cause heartburn?

Re: Heartburn?
Actually, when I was on WW, I rarely experienced heartburn. I would get it periodically when I ate more fried foods, and drank more alcohol. I have always had a problem with orange juice. Coffee and chocolate can affect it too.
Now that I am pregnant, I have it all the time. I find that when I do have it, drinking more water makes it worse, but sometimes drinking seltzer helps, because it makes me burp, which alleviates it. I find Tums Smoothies work the best for me. They seem to work faster than anything else.
ETA: Some of those Kashi snacks could be the culprit. I was eating GoLean bars for a while, until I realized I would get HB every time I ate one.

Re: Heartburn?
Thanks ladies. I suspect then, the culprit are those yummy kashi crackers, and the Barbara's puffins that I've been munching on incessantly. See what you get for eating good?
Guess I'll be picking up some Tums!

Puffins don't bother me at all, but I usually just eat them for breakfast.

Re: Heartburn?
i have acid reflux so its usually tomatoes, chocolate, anything caffeinated, oranges (or anything with citrus) that triggers it.
when i feel really bad heartburn i cant lie down or i usually feel like im gonna choke, i have crackers or bread to calm my stomach down. and usually milk helps too to recoat my stomach.
