Arranging for an airport pickup
When you call a company to pick someone up from the airport, is it standard to give them a credit card # and pay in advance?
I just called a taxi company to pick DH up from LGA and they wanted payment up front.
Is this normal?

I'm totally having a brain fart - I swear I am an intelligent person... so DH can just pay cash when they pick him up at the airport - even if I pre-arrange it over the phone??
I'm just worried - if I give them payment over the phone, what's to say that they are actually going to show up and actually pick him up?

I have always given my cc over the phone for a car service.

Well assuming its a reputable company, you should be fine. Usually they will just take the CC number to hold the reservation, and give you the option of paying cash at pickup or using the CC "on file" for payment.

Just make sure you tell them that he wants to pay cash when you call them...otherwise they might run it and just have your DH sign the slip with the driver.

And make sure that your DH knows that you gave a CC number so he doesn't pay them and then you pay them!

We always pay round trip in advance. In the past 2 years, the company only forgot to pick us up at JFK once, lol. They rectified the situation quickly.
