Pregnancy Recipes
I thought maybe we could start a recipe thread for recipes we are eating?
Might be silly, but I thought of it when I made this recipe that I altered so it has added baby growing nutrients (flax seed, wlanuts, whole wheat flour)
Banana Bread Serves 8 Ingredients Cooking spray 1 ½ C whole wheat flour ½ C white flour ¾ C sugar 2 tsp baking powder ½ tsp baking soda ½ tsp salt 3Tbsp Flax Seed 3-4 large ripe bananas, mashed ¼ C skim milk 2 egg whites 1 tsp pure vanilla extract Optional Addition(1 C fresh or frozen raspberries or ½ C apple sauce) 1/2 Cup Walnuts Preparation Heat oven to 350?. Coat an 8” loaf pan with cooking spray. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, & flax seed whisk to blend. Make a well in center; set aside.
In another bowl, combine bananas, milk, eggs, and vanilla; fold in raspberries & other optional addition. Pour batter into center of dry ingredients; fold together until combined. Do not overmix. Pour batter into pan; bake 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely. Slice before wrapping individually.

Re: Pregnancy Recipes
Here's one I made today. I went off of one I recieved from a pregnancy websites email and tweaked it a little.
Pumpkin Bread Ingredients 3 cups white sugar (or substitute) 3 egg whites 2/3 cup water 2 teaspoons baking soda 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon ground allspice 3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree (or fresh sugar pumpkin puree) (optional: 1 cup chopped walnuts) 1 cup raisins optional: 4Tbsp Flaxseed
Preparation 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray three 7 x 3 inch loaf pans. 2. Mix sugar, and eggs together in a large bowl. Mix in pumpkin puree and water. Stir together flour, soda, baking powder, salt, and spices. 3. Add to the pumpkin mixture, and mix until just combined. Stir in (nuts) raisins. 4. Divide batter into prepared pans. 5. Bake for approximately 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool on wire racks.
