Maitre'd tipping for parties (NOT weddings)
Is it the "norm" to tip the maitre'd for parties (NOT weddings) such as birthday parties, christenings, etc.?
Assume there are about 50 people at the party and it's a sit down dinner at a restaurant/catering facility. You are also paying 18% gratuity on top of the bill.
If so, how much?

Yes I think it is the norm. I would give $50 but I am cheap so who knows
