Anyone move out of state while pregnant?

We move to NC at the end of the month and my Dr here knows that.

We already have a referral from the medical office my DH will be working for, so that is a relief (apparently all the Dr wives used them).

Anyone else move mid-pregnancy?

No, but I'm moving to VA. as soon as the baby's born, Maybe 2 week after. We are closing on our house in Nov, but I wanted to have the Baby in NY, with my doctor of many years. So we agreed to delay the move. I need to find a pediatrician down there before we move.

Re: Anyone move out of state while pregnant?

I moved at 16 weeks from staten island to charlotte. The healthcare I received down here was top notch. The hospital I had my baby in was so great. My mother is a nurse, worked in staten island hospitals...says there is no comparing. I am not a complete fan of the south, but I can't say enough about my great birth experience.

I told my dr in SI that I was moving. When I made an appt for my new dr, my SI dr faxed all my tests down.

that's what we figured. We go to the Dr 1 last time next week, so I'll check what he wants to do.
Glad you had a good experience. Considering my DH will be working across the street from the hospital and his pracatice performs surgery, I hope the service will be great!

Yes I moved at 18 weeks. I drove 19 hours to get from point A to point B. I was worried about not getting a doctor soon, but I got one really quick and love him. Its the best thing that came out of the move. Way better then my first doctor. Good luck with you.

19hrsChat Icon Holly Cow! Thankfully we are not that many and driving at night to avoid the traffic!
It'll be nice to get a dr that I know will be the one I am delivering with. My dr here has been nice, but I have not looked towards delivery and the hosital it'll happen at, so I am looking forward to that.

We closed on our home in NJ when I was 38 weeks. I packed up our old house at 37 weeks, we put everything in a pod and then had everything unpacked July 8th and I had DD July 9th. We did stay on LI though with my parents since we closed so late in my pg. It definitly wasn't easy. But since you will not be as far along I think everything will be ok.

Yeah luckily I packed most of the stuff months ago. DH & his family are packing up the pods and they are going to also drive down to unload them.

I am only unpacking what we need (basically the stuff that is still not packed now), because we will only be in the apartment about 6 months. I am not repacking again at 9mos or with a newborn.

yup i moved from NY to VA at the end of june and DD was born Aug 8th (of 2005) it was rough i called the local hospital and asked them for some refrences for OB's and peditricians before i moved and called around and had phone consultations with them. it was a little stressful but you do what you have to do.
