furniture....
where is a good place to buy living,dining room, bedroom furniture? something not too expensive but pretty good quality?
i heard bob's discount furniture in farmingdale is decent...any info on them? thanks

She means furniture made down in NC (or sometimes SC) direct from the factories.
I'd love to hear suggestions for actual place there, though. All the ones I've seen, once you have it delivered, is no cheaper than comparable furniture up here... Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places!!

Some people have gotten furniture from N. Carolina.
We got our br and lr sets at Raymour and Flanigan and have been pretty happy.
Or dr set came from Macy's. They are good when they are having sales.

thanks girls..as for NC..i have gotten my dd's bedroom furntiure online from nc..my mom had ordered it..it actually took like 8 months..it was so annoying..but i love the furniture..

I just ordered my dining room furniture and 2 sofas from Black's Furniture in NC. It was the second time I've used them and was really happy. I've recommended them to a few other people who also have been pleased. Their prices were better and the furniture was delivered in about 6-7 weeks. Even if I ordered my furniture locally I would have had to wait because my sofas were customized fabric and no place carried the dining room furniture combination I wanted in stock. I just shop around to find what I want and call them and they give me a quote. blacksfurniture.com

My experience with Bob's Furniture was not a pleasant one. Neither was my mothers or a few other people i know. I had to have 4 different couches delivered before they would finally give me my money back. All four sets were broken. Yes they are cheaper but, so is the quality of furniture they sell. And they can be very pushy as well. I would Definately go the NC route. Good luck on your furniture hunt!

we got our couch and bedroom set from JC Penny.. almost 3 years later, they are holding up great, and we get compliments on them all the time.. price was good, and delivery went very smoothly, too!
