What would you do?
I am thinking about looking for a new job. Where I am right now I feel like I have no opportunity for advancement. I work for a very large, very well known company, but any time I apporoach management about a raise/promotion they pretty much blow me off. I have been working here for over two years and get nothing but outstanding reviews, which I constantly point out.
People are leaving right and left because they are just as frustrated as I am. Yet the company does nothing to try to keep anyone.
Now here's the thing. I would look for job ASAP EXCEPT. They are so flexible here. If I need to come in late or leave early, its never a problem. Taking a day off or working from home every once in awhile is not a problem either. I am TTC, and have IF issues which I am currently undergoing treatment for, and the coverage I have for IF here is pretty generous. If I left, who knows what kind of coverage I would get at a new place, or if I would have to wait a certain time period until benefits kick in.
DH has crappy insurance...
So do I stay here and wait until I get pg- which is who knows how long. Or say I can't put my life on hold for TTC and advance my career?
I am so torn, I really don't know what to do.

Re: What would you do?
my advice to you is to figure out what is most important to you in the short term.
if that turns out to be a baby, I would stay put.
if you can't stomach the idea of staying there 1 more day. it's def time to move on.
good luck to you!

Re: What would you do?
My employer doesn't even THINK about promotions until employees have been here for three full years. Maybe your company has a similar timeframe, so you can reapproach them at the end of your third year?
I don't know. Tough choice.

Re: What would you do?
I'm in a similar situation with my job, I've been here a long time and have flexibilities that I wouldn't enjoy at a new job. But we aren't TTC yet, mainly bc I want to find a new job that pays better and where there's room for advancement. I decided to move on with my career first, and then baby will come later. It really is a personal decision, for me I know I'm young still and not yet feeling the pressures of "now before it's too late". HTH, good luck with whatever you choose!!

ITA. If the baby is your priority right now, I would stay put.

Re: What would you do?
I am in a VERY similar predicament and I have decided to stick it out. Having a baby right now is more important to me than my job.
However, once I'm on maternity leave or shortly after I return to work, I intend to start, aggressively, looking for a new job.
Keep the big picture in mind and hang in there, you'll get through this!!
