Question concerning thank you's..
John's parents have been nothing less than amazing to me and Amber. Just this past weekend, his father surprised me with a dual headset DVD/TV combo for my van! He was upset because Amber broke her hand held one and John was trying to fix it Today I ordered them up a colossal fruit basket because the Dad is diabetic. Do you think that was acceptable or should I have done something different?

Re: Question concerning thank you's..
Depending on the fruit, and the diabetic, sometimes fruit is worse than chocolate for a diabetic. Most diabetics understand your intention, and he still may be able to eat some or all of it.
I'm sure he'll appreciate the fact that you acknowledged the gift.

Re: Question concerning thank you's..
I think that is very thoughtful. Another thing you can do (I know my grandmother appreciated it when my mom bought her cookies) is maybe make a snack basket but put in things that he can have. My grandmother is a diabetic also and my mom and her really but head but she had to stay at my parents house for 6 weeks. My mom would look for sugar free things and she really did enjoy it. Or maybe make them dinner and invite them over for a thank you. They have diabetic cookbooks out their now so you should be able to find something that everyone can eat.

I think that was VERY nice of you. I am sure he wasn't looking for a "thank you", but would appreciate it immensely. Don't worry about doing something like that everytime though, some people just like to give to others out of the goodness of their hearts!
