I guess I am a cool wife
SO DH has wanted a lcd tv for I don't know how long...I always tell him "We don't need that / don't have the money for it...etc"
So we decided that we will buy this as a x-mas gift to each other.....that means I am not getting anything else for x-mas but a stupid tv that I don't want
he will have to make up for it on my birthday (which is like one month after x-mas - feb 4th)

I made that same compromise last year. This year for our anniversary I walked away with new diamond studs.

Even though I didn't think we needed either, I'm glad we got it. You will probably secretly love it. Obviously never let on that you do, so you get a better birthday gift.

If he starts asking you if you want 5.1 surround sound for your birthday. Don't come running to me, I will answer "I told you so." Same reply when he asks for a HD DVR, the "premium ultimate super fantastic cable channels", for your next anniversary.

Awesome!!  And I'm sure you'll enjoy the TV once it arrives.
We do that all the time, every gift now is "us" stuff for the house.
