hawk caught in net at chelsea pier golf range

we were out to dinner at the chelsea brewery tonight when there was some commotion at the golf range next to it.
a hawk somehow got caught between the double layers of netting.

people tried to call animal rescue groups, but being sunday evening, no one was available. finally a woman got it out of the netting and wrapped it in a towel.
there was blood on its wing and people think it might be broken. but since no rescue groups were available people were saying that they would have to set it free.

DH and i had to leave before it was set free or before any possible rescue organizations could arrive.

i hope the bird is ok.
