Has anyone had or heard of this stomach bacteria?
Helicobacter Pylori
My mother has it and was given antibiotics to treat it. I guess they didn't work. So, now the doctor prescribed her 17 pills to take in one day for the next two weeks.. Just doesn't sound right to me.. Any info. would be greatly appreciated!!

Yes I have heard of it. This bacteria caused ulcers.

Yup! I have been the proud owner of this bacteria not once but yes two times
I was actually able to trace it back to eating Chinese food with the help of my GI doctor. The fried rice is cooked in the am and then sits under heat lamps all day where bacteria breeds. It ends up at the top of the stomach and if it goes untreated, it can cause bleeding ulcers.

yes........ this bacteria attacks the lining of your stomach.....your stomach had acid in it...the acid aids in digestion... the lining of your stomach is there to protect it from the acid....this bacteria attacks the stomach lining and can cause ulcers.....it can be treated w/meds......HTH hope she is feelinf better

I went to the doctor because I was having stomach problems, and I thought I had a ulcer. They found high amounts of H Pylori in my blood. I had to take about 4 pills two times daily, for about two Weeks. I took a Prev Pack, which did not agree with me, and I had about every side affect. I'm fine now!!
