Would I do it? No.
Do I think other people should do it? Sure, if that's what they want.

I wonder about any body mutilation. Tattoos, implants, piercings (including earrings....) Why does anyone need to modify their body?

I agree with this, but mostly because i have only a limited threshold for pain for appearances. I have gotten corrective dental work, however I consider that just as much medical as cosmetic. Hair removal is probably about as much pain as i will endure for beauty. If I didn't have my ears pierced at a very young age I probably wouldn't even do that.

I don't know, I don't even care about the way it looks, just the thought of all those needles and all that pain just to achieve some outward appearance seems kind of odd to me. It's one thing to get a tattoo here or a tattoo there.... it's another to constantly subject yourself to that much pain.

I LOVE the way it looks. I wish I could do it but in my profession it would be frowned upon. So are piercings. Plus DH wouldn't like it.

I love tattoos! I find them sexy on men and women. I would not however, cover my entire body with them, but I wouldn't care if someone else wanted to.

Re: Do you think it's silly to tattoo your entire body?

I gave a little thought to this thread. There are people who do not think it is silly and do tattoo themselves heavily and it works for them. There are those of us who have a few tattoos here and there - some visible - some private. There are probably more people who have none with no intentions of getting any for any reason at all.

There is no doubt that a heavily tatooed person commands attention (intentionally or not). I personally can't just walk by a person with a sleeve or torso or leg or whatever without finding it fascinating and wondering what compels a person to do it. I dont walk by and think that they made a mistake or that they will wish they never did what they did. It isnt my business and they surely werent thinking of my opinion when they did it.

When I had my navel pierced, the young man who did it had long blonde dreadlocks, a ton of tattoos and multiple body piercings on his face, neck and parts unseen (I didnt actually see them - I saw a portfolio). I asked him about all of it. He led a lifestyle in a community that embraced his personal style of expression. It did not look like he was going to leave this line of work anytime soon to suit up and become a financier on Wall Street. He was a really interesting guy and pretty bright.

Obviously (and forgive the cliche) beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I try to be mindful that there are different types of beauty.

Its a lifestyle choice..not for me, but it looks pretty good on some people.

You have to live that kind of lifestyle to get away with that

According to wikipedia she is recently divorced. Did not know that.

Yeah, actually, Steve O was dating her and broke up with her because the divorce was really rough and she was busy with that and the show. He was on Howard yesterday talking about it (in between his drug induced rantings and ravings...)

It's not for me personally.

I agree that it's a lifestyle choice & if you live that lifestyle it's not sillly. If you're looking to work in a corporate setting, then to tattoo your entire body would be foolish to do it in my opinion.
