Need some kitchen help....

We rent a 2 BR apt, but FIL owns the house (and lives downstairs), so we pretty much have free reign on design.

How difficult/costly/etc is it to replace countertop and sink?

I know it depends on the size/material and such, but I want to get an idea. TIA!!

TIA!

Not bad.

Sink will cost a few hundred depending upon size and material. With Granite you undermount the sink. Formica, slip in overmount.

Faucet about a couple hundred.

Counters definitely depends upon sq. footage and materials used. Granite, for an average kitchen, again, depending upon stone, will be a few thousand. Formica can be a few hundred.

If you are going with granite the company will come out and measure as it must be precut for the space and for your faucet holes and special edging if you so desire. They install. Even my contractor does not install granite, he has the marble and granite comp. do everything.

If you are buying a stock counter material from home depot (cheapest option) they will not measure. If you can have them come out and measure for free definitely do it, that way if the measurements are off it's their problem.

Not difficult to instll overmount sink, undermount a bit trickier. Faucet is probably the easiest.

In a kitchen that size with thos cabinets I would do custom formica. We used Bill Alessi from Countertop Express 631-589-3400. He is awesome very reasonably priced. I love my countertops.
