I wanted to be a preschool teacher for part of growing up, and part of it I wanted to be a doctor. Now I'm a researcher, but just until I get my PhD. I'll probably end up doing something with science and the public, or science and educational programs (at a museum hopefully).

I wanted to be a doctor. I was a biochemistry major in collge, but decided to become an attorney instead.

I wanted to be a dolphin trainer

I went to school for health care and ended up working at a major financial investment firm and doing wedding coordination

I wanted to work either in media or education or both like Sesame Street type show. Anyway I do work in media now but in sales ops (finance) sooo not what I pictured lol.

I had always told people that all I wanted was to be a mom. My mom was a SAHM, and I loved it, and that's what I wanted to do with my life. I never really had any career aspirations, never took college seriously.
And now I'm on my way to be a mom, and eventually will be able to SAH. It's a dream come true.

Toaday: I am a marketing and communications director for a travel & tourism company

Not nearly as fabulous but it pays the bills

So, I'm close - I'm an attorney, but not a criiminal attorney. I think being a civil rights attorney is just as, if not more, rewarding though.

I wanted to be a doctor and was offered early acceptance to med school. I decided it wasn't for me and became a CPA. I am now a CFO for an Investment Management Firm.

If I could do it over, I would love to have studied European History or become a Guidance Counselor

I thought I was going to be a nurse in the pediatric unit of a hospital. Courses were hard, so, then I thought of teaching.
I kind of got into the teaching by working in day care for years.
Then, my other dream came true..A SAHM.

I do work a p/t job, independently and I love that I can make my own hours.
I have a BS degree, that is basically collecting dust. Maybe, when Im done having children, that degree will come back into play.

When I was younger I went back and forth between lawyer, cop and famous author.

I'm a reporter/writer for a magazine.

I always thought/wanted to be either a Model, professional equestrian (olympic horse back rider, started when i was 4) or a writer...

I am NONE of the above...I fell way short of where I should have been. That's what rebellion, moving out of daddy's house at 18 and the "NYC club scene" will get ya these days.

I did come a long way and what I am now is a mom, wife and executive assistant. Not too shabby, coulda been worse if ya ask me...

I knew since I was about 8 or 9 that I wanted to be an EMT. My favorite show was Rescue 911. Thats how it all started. Right out of High School I went to school for it and did it for a few years. I no longer work in the field though.

I thought I'd be a professional flutist. While I am, it's what I do on the side and I am a music teacher, the thing I SWORE I'd never do.

I never in a million years thought I'd be working in an office. That was the one thing I definitely didn't want to do. I wanted to be a teacher, and I was - I taught for 5 years. Resigned this past June, and now here I am in an office.... and I like it! Go figure.
