Anyone know where I can have a record burned to CD?
I have this record we sent my grandma when I was a kid and we lived in England called "Grandma We Love You" It was recorded by a bunch of school kids when we were over there and it's cute. My grandma gave it back to me recently and I wanted to burn it to cd for Sarah to give my mom and MIL for the holidays. We have a record player in our stereo and a CD burner in our computer, but I don't know how to hook them up, so I figured I'd have to take it somewhere.
Thanks!! Cathy

How much are you willing to pay for it?
Check craigslist out. Let me know what they are willing to charge you.

Not to be a dunce, but where on craigslist do I look? Or do I just post on one of the boards that I'm interested in someone doing it for me?
Thanks!

I can ask DH when he gets home from band practice. In the meantime I found this site:
For do it yourself: http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/1/1800.html
This place is in Ohio: http://www.ralphcarmichael.com/services.htm#Records
Found another CA based company but it was more expensive than the Ohio one. Still looking for NY, will let you know in a min.

Rochester: http://www.marchandelec.com/lp2cd.html
etd. DH said he didn't know but thought the audiophile instructions sounded right.
The way I searched was LP to CD conversion.

Ah yes, the famed "Theres no one quite like Grandma" by St Winifreds School Choir, the UK Christmas No. 1 in 1980 by those loveable lisping schoolkids from Stockport in Greater Manchester. This was followed up by "Grandpa we love you" by the rival choir at St Cuthberts...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/ilove/years/1980/music1.shtml (click on the video for a giggle)
As a Long Island girl living in the Greater Manchester area for the last 6 years, this song is close to my heart as I too love my grandma, and I love to see what has happened to those schoolkids since their debut in 1980...one is a vampire and one stars in the nations favourite soap opera Coronation Street as our favourite battered barmaid Shelley Unwin.
Anyway, can't help with the record to cd thing, but good luck!!

LOL. Thanks for the update on the kids. A vampire????? And Coronation Street is still running? I just assumed the ones on BBC America were reruns.
I found it on some British compliation of kids songs on Amazon for $10, and I was getting some other stuff so I got free shipping. Figured I'd just copy the cd myself. Thanks to everyone for the help!

Re: Anyone know where I can have a record burned to CD?
Coronation Street is indeed still running...its the longest running soap opera in the world, 2005 is its 45th year! And the main actor is the same guy, talk about being typecast!
I think its probably Eastenders on BBC America as Coronation Street is an ITV show...still, they are all the same...miserable all the bloody time!
Good luck with the CD.
