i am a person who starts thinking of christmas early, i usually make the majority of my gifts... exactly for the reason to keep it more personal and not commercial.
for this same reason, i agree that it's just sad. by the time christmas runs around, most people are tired of it and just want it to go away because they have to start thinking about the next money-maker... valentine's day.
it's all sad

Christmas is my favorite time of the year! I am so excited that it is right around the corner. I do agree though that it is crazy that there are Christmas things out already and it is not even October yet!!!!

seriously!! soon we'll only be able to shop for winter clothes in August and summer clothes in January!

nah - that's November 1st when i start playing music 
yes, it may be a tad early to start with lights and trees and snowflakes, but the message of christmas is one of peace, joy and love - and to me, it's never too early to start spreading that message
