Is it true that...

when you go on a plane and pack things like hairspray, spray deodorant, axe, etc... basically, anything in an aerosol spray can that the pressure may cause it to explode?

i ask b/c i used to always pack these items (toiletries) in my 'carry on' bag but now w/ this new rule of no items over four oz of liquid i don't know what to do... can someone shed some light on this? we are leaving for our HM tomorrow and packing like crazy- and i'm so afraid to put my hairspray in with my clothes for the fear that my beautiful clothes will come out STICKY lol in Hawaii.

I put everything in ziplock bags some i double the ziplock bags! I have had my lotion explode but it was in a ziplock so it was fine. I also packed some extra ziplocks in case I needed new bags for the way home. WOrks perfect. I used the gallon bags

That 4oz rule only applies to carry on luggage I believe.

I have packed all of that stuff in my checked bags before and haven't had a problem with combustion or it not being allowed.

Only thing I would suggest is to not pack it in an outside pocket of the luggage. I made that mistake recently with a bottle of perfume, I had the best smelling luggage in the whole airport.
