What do we do?? Please read.
We found out in April that my Dad has cancer of the liver. :( He just had the surgery for it last week. Thank God it was operable. Last night we went to see this guy that sells this vitamin. It is called CELLECT. He swears by it that it has saved so many lives of people with all kinds of cancers, esp. pancreatic. He is a 29 year survivor of pancreatic cancer. He is a wonderful man. My parents can't afford the vitamins and he offered to not charge them or they can pay him whatever they feel they can if that would make them feel better. He is not in it for the money. Does anyone out there know of this?? His name is Fred Eichhorn and the website is www.cellect.org . He has his own not -for- profit organization called The National Cancer Research Foundation. That website is www.ncrf.org. So right now, this moment, we are trying to decide if my Dad should have more preventative chemo (Which this guy is saying Chemo is actually causing the cancer) or he should forego the chemo and get this body chemistry normal so there will be new cells produced and if any cancer cells they die off. It is only vitamins and minerals. Natural not holistic (herbs). It is shark cartlidge, cod liver oil, chromium picolinate, Calcium, Vitamin A and D. Stuff like that.
If you are familiar with any of this and can help anyway, please let me know. Thanks so much, Denise

first of all many . My mom passed from cancer and my uncle just recently. In seeing what they and our family went through, my heart breaks for anybody that has to deal with this. I think it is a personal decision but me being the person that i am and having a very open mind to different methods of treatment , if it were me that was sick i would give it a shot! god bless you and your family my thoughts and prayers are with you. Good luck in what ever you decide...

I'm sorry about your dad
I've never heard of the person you mention or that pill. Is your dad going to Sloan Kettering hospital? If not maybe you should go there for a consultation, since it's a great hospital for cancer patients.
Best of luck!

Re: What do we do?? Please read.
to you. I know how hard it is. I don't think there is anything medically sound about saying chemo causes cancer. It has been medically proven that preventative chemo works, so I would be hesitant to try another route if waiting could make the chemo less effective. What do the doctors say?
ETA: I read more on his site and it just doesn't sound medically sound.
He says, "I found that “cancer” is not a disease, instead, it is the body’s response to a nutritional deficiency"
I would be wary of putting any faith in his pills. There is also a large disclaimer on his site that says:
Remember we are NOT Doctors and have NO medical training.
I have several doctors in my family, and would put my faith in the hands of those at Sloan Kettering with the most experience and education dealing with cancer.

Re: What do we do?? Please read.
My prayers go out to you and your family....I would tell you to trust your heart and your instinct to do what you all think is best at this time. One of my teachers was diagnosed with cancer when I was in HS and she went through a lot of homeopathic forms of treatment. Lots of vitamins and natural herbs. She felt it helped a lot and she chose to seek this type of treatment. Please keep us updated...

Re: What do we do?? Please read.
It is partly true what this doctor is saying...But IMO he is really misrepresenting the facts
Chemo...while killing cancerous cells kills healthy cells as well, which can leave you very susceptible to sickness. SOme do feel even susceptible to cancer. I do believe this to be true to a certain extent.
BUT i think that i would listen to an oncologist more than this "wellness" person. I personally do not trust them with this kind of seriousness.

Re: What do we do?? Please read.
First of all, let me start off by saying how sorry I am to hear about your Mom and Uncle. Cancer is so horrible.......... These last two years have been the worst of my life and I just had a little baby girl, Ava Rose on July 4th. She keeps me going, but I feel like I am not a great mommy to her because my heart breaks for my Dad. Everytime I look at her I am reminded about him being sick and that he may not be here to see her grow up.
yes, he did go there, but they did not have insurance. They did recommend a treatment plan that he has followed with his local oncologist, North Shore Hematology and oncology. My parents are definitely going to take his vitamins, esp. since it is free and is only vitamins, it can't hurt him. The real question is whether or not to continue taking the poisonous chemo, which don't get me wrong, I know it helps, but it is poison. Oh it is so hard.
Thank you all so much for your advice. I can't begin to tell you how much your love and support means to me-Always.

Re: What do we do?? Please read.
I don't know what to tell you. I kind of want to say that since they sound like just vitamins, to go ahead and give it a shot. But vitamins get processed through the liver (don't they?). I would mention it to the doctors even though they will probably blow it off as ineffective. But ultimately it's up to your Dad what he is willing to try or what he believes may work.
I have to send you lots of hugs and tell you that your Dad is very strong and lucky to have the upperhand in this battle. I'm so glad to hear he did well with the surgery. I lost someone to liver cancer last year and it happened so fast.

Re: What do we do?? Please read.
Thank you all, I just reread your latest responses. I think I will tell my parents to continue taking the vitamins but not to stop the chemo treatments. Thank you all so much! I really value your opinions. Please keep my Dad in your prayers, as I know you already are without my asking.
Much love to you all! I will keep you all update on what we decide, although I think I know which way we are heading...
Love you all, Denise

Re: What do we do?? Please read.
Thank you so much. I am so sorry to hear that you lost someone you love to liver cancer. GOD, why can't they just find a f'ing cure for this godforsaken disease. I am sorry but it is killing me inside. I wake up at night in cold sweats thinking I am going to be next to get cancer. It is horrible. Every act I take even breathing scares me. It is to the point, where I think I need help or medication or something. After it happening to my dad and seeing cancer close up and personal I am so scared............... Sorry for venting. I am sure you girls can see where I am coming from.

No, they did scans and as of last week, he is clean, no cancer that the pet scans picked up in his body.

That was a few years ago, but I do know that she was happy with her decision to go the route she took. Good luck sweetie!

I am so sorry you and yoru family are going through this. I have no advise, but whatever you decide- tell the doctors. The worst thing is for the doctors to proceed not knwoing everything. Let them know that your dad is taking this vitamin. You and your family are in my prayers.
