NSUH- question...
OK I just spent all afternoon doing searches on the RE's on the island. It looks like North Shore is coming out with great reviews and somewhere I would be interested in going to. With that said, I live in eastern Suffolk so going to Nassau on a daily basis would be difficult. I read on the website that Dr. Chu has office hours in Huntinton Hospital. Has anyone done this? Would you be able to get most services there and then go to the other office for any prcedures? I'm just so confused and while it's great that there are so many reviews on here, I feel like I have read too many opinions!!

Re: NSUH- question...
Dr. Chu (if I remember rightly) is only at Huntington on Thursday evenings, so I would say you probably have to go to NS anyway.
When I did my treatment there I saw which ever Dr was "on duty" that day and if you do IVF they will have you there towards the end of the cycle every morning for blood & sonograms.
Good luck

well kinda. I only saw her a few times at Huntington and NSUH was actually closer for me then Huntington....
I think she is there 2x's a week, Thursday night like Cat said being one of them.
They will take blood there , but thats it.
Any procedures would be at NSUH.
So it depends on what your situation and protocol is.
You can make a consult and discuss it,
I loved Dr. Chu and I had a LOT of trouble getting there with work and she really worked with me to get me in early etc. She tried hard to help me.

Thanks Donna.
Basically I will be driving at least an hour and 20 min one way for any of the RE's on Long Island, so I am thinking an extra 20-30 min. isn't going to kill me. How is the traffic in that area (bear in mind I have no idea what the traffic patterns are like as I live WAY out east!!)? When would be a good time to make an appointment to aviod the worst traffic? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just getting overwhelmed!!

Re: NSUH- question...
I live just a hop skip and a jump from NSUH - literally 10 minutes. However, if you plan on going there around the time of a staff shift change, you can sit on Community Drive for a little while. Give yourself ample time.

Re: NSUH- question...
Like Goldi said, Comminuty drive and the expressway is bad in certain spots.
Most of my appointments were in the 7 am range, so I could get to work by 8:30 ( most times I made it with plenty fo time to spare) ...
If you meet with Dr. Chu , make sure to impress on her the problems with your schedule and driving, she will help get you early appnts.
The first is 7am , and I would see other dr's just to get that appointment.
the expressway is empty in most areas except a little closer to where you have to get off.
I live about 20 minutes away traffic free, and it never took me more then 25 minutes average, most 45 minutes.
