DMV-Registration Q's
Does any one know if theres a fee for lapse in registration?
I tried to register online and realized Inspection was up on both cars ( mommy brain!)
Both cars are getting new brakes and tires to pass inspection.
The registrations were up on 08-25 and 09-03 , so they are lapsed.
Is there a fee?
AND....DO I have to register in person now?
Thanks for anyone with info!!

There might be. If the insurance lapsed there definitely will be.

Re: DMV-Registration Q's
You will have to re-register both cars. I think it's $60 each. Your insurance is not affected-it only works the other way. If you have a lapse in insurance your reg. sill be suspended and then you pay $8 per day for each day of lapse-or turn in your plates for the amt of time you didn't have ins. which is a great money making scheme. Kudos to NY State for being so creative!
