Got a wedding invite...
and we have no clue how to dress... This is the second NJ wedding where the invite was both more on the casual side, and there is nothing that says what the dress code is. Is it a regional thing??
Anyway--- Church ceremony starts at 3, reception to follow at 4 30. It's a Saturday night.
We can assume that DH will wear a suit and tie-- and potentially something a little more "fun" in terms of shirt or something... For me, I know it can be anything goes, but was just wondering what you guys thought.
This is the wedding that I thought would be pretty fancy based on the registry items-- but now I am thinking not the case.

Re: Got a wedding invite...
wow, I've never gotten an invite with dress code on it.
I would assume that you wear a nice cocktail dress, since it is an evening wedding.

Re: Got a wedding invite...
What's a casual invite? I wonder if my invite was casual. I didn't mention dress code on mine. Anyway, I usually wear a black cocktail dress unless it is black tie.

Re: Got a wedding invite...
The wedding is at the Kellogg Club in Morristown.
I had posted a few weeks ago-- I was trying to figure out where the wedding could be (we were trying to determine if we should book a hotel room), and this was one of the places that I thought it could be. The place looks nice, but almost like it could be on the smaller side.
Another weird thing is that the response card has a place to check to "Please send directions"...

the invite is pretty, it's just a little less formal than other invites I have seen. It could be an invite for anything-- not necessarily a wedding is all.

Re: Got a wedding invite...
I would wear what you would wear to any other wedding. NJ weddings are pretty similar to LI weddings.

Ahhh I gotcha. I would still go with a black cocktail dress. Can't go wrong with that.

ITA with this! i'm NJ born and raised, and i have to say that especially in north jersey where morristown is, weddings are pretty much the same as LI weddings. big coctail hours, nice sit down dinners, etc. i would wear what you would wear to an LI saturday evening wedding. have fun!

Re: Got a wedding invite...
IMO you cant go wrong with a cocktail dress, even if it is a little more formal

Re: Got a wedding invite...
I just Googled the RH, it seems like a pretty nice place. I'd say dress like you would to any formal wedding, a cocktail dress would be perfect.
They might have just gone with "casual" invitations bc they didn't want to spend a lot of $$ on something that's going to end up in the trash.

yeah- I mean, I live in NJ and can assume that the wedding would be pretty similar... I was just thinking based on the time and the fact that there is no dress code specified... I'll just use my judgement based on what dresses I have... Thanks!
