DH and I went to go see Halloween last night...
WARNING: IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS THEN DON'T READ BEYOND THIS POINT
We were so disappointed in it! Nothing like the original. What we did like about it was that they spent time on letting you know about what kind of little boy Michael Myers was. The kid that played him was good.
The girl that played Lori Strodes was a joke. Too perky and acted like a goofball, nothing like the original shy and quiet girl that Jamie Lee played.
Dr. Loomis's character was another joke. Donald Pleasance was excellent. I'm not discrediting the actor in this movie, it's the character. You saw the fear and worry in the face of Dr. Loomis when he found out Michael Myers was missing. This Dr. Loomis was so non chalant when they called to tell him that Michael had escaped from the institution. He was like "ok i'll be right there"...but like in a very nonchalant way.
As for the guy who played Michael Myers...well it was this big giant dude that looked like a wrestler...
It lacked suspense and was filled with too much action and stunts... And the final scenes where he's chasing Lori are ridiculous. The original ends with Dr. Loomis shooting Michael and he goes flying out the window, then minutes later when he looks out that window Michael is gone. Well not in this movie. In this one they have Micheal kill Dr. Loomis and him and Lori both go flying out the window...What's stupid is that when Dr. Loomis shot him 5 minutes earlier he didn't die but after Michael and Lori go flying out the window she then shoots him and then he dies...
Very disappointed. Out of a score of 10 I give it a 4, and that's because I actually liked the beginning part.

Lately it just seems that all they do is remake an original movie and turn it into crap,they can't be creative anymore so they just decide to remake an original. It's insulting to the original movie. John Carpenter should have not even have allowed Zombie to redo it...IMO

Yeah...We went to see it because DH and I love the original and it's sequel but this was crap...
All these remakes are and I will no longer be suckered into going to see one ever again!

you cant compare teh two movies.
you'd probably like it more if you weren comparing them.
different directors have different visions.
i loved it.
i think the end was alitle long, dragging it out him chasing Laurie around, but that was my only complaint.
i agree she was a bit too bubbly too. like, the ultimate innocent victim.
he killed more ppl in this one, which i liked. i LOVED the childhood part.
i liked the creepiness of his masks and stuff.
as for the end, the difference is Loomis just grazed MM with bullets. Laurie shot him in the face!
