Re: Little Shelter.....
We adopted Max from there who we just recently had to put down ... he was a wonderful senior guy who gave us lots of happiness for five wonderful years.
ETA: We donate food, towels, money, etc to them throughout the year to help repay them for such a great doggie!!!

Re: Little Shelter.....
I adopted my boxer mix from there back in May. They are a really great shelter. They take very good care of thier animals. I went to a couple of different shelters before i went to little shelter. When we went to little shelter it was so great to see a shelter that actually really cares about thier animals. They take there dos on walks thru the woods and they have runs that they rotate the dogs and they were very honest with us from the beginning. We went there and spoke to this woman Fran and just from speaking with her you knew that they really did care for thier animals. My boxer mix they got from Hempstead shelter where they were going to put him to sleep. he was only 4 months old and little shelter took him and he was very nervous and scared but he is great now and we are so happy that we decided to get our ppuppy from little shelter. Great place! Image Attachment(s):

Re: Little Shelter.....
I haven't adopted from there, but I have been there several times and you can see how much they care for the pets there. I think it would be a great place to get a pet from. They give you very honest assesments of how the dog behaves and whether or not he/she can be around children or other pets. They say they update their website frequently but I find that the one on petfinder.com and search for little shelter is the most accurate.

Re: Little Shelter.....
We adopted our family pet, a yorkie, about 14 years ago. Really my mom rescued him. When we got him you could count his ribs and they completely shaved him. His spine is ccrooked from beinmg caged and used as a bredding dog.
He is now approxiamately 15-16 years old. He has lived a good life, but now he is blind and deaf. It's so hard to see him aged and not even though we are there. But, going back to the original post, we are so happy that we adopted Benji and have had him as part of our family for this long.
