how would you phrase this?
i have been seeing a therapist for the last two months to deal with an isolated personal problem. i knew it would be short term and so did the therapist. well anyway, last week she said something that made me realize that i think i'm done with her. i really like her (if you need a recommendation ever, FM me) but I just don't think her words of wisdom can help me much more (and she's $$$ and not under my insurance.)
I'm trying to think of a nice way to word thank you but i'm finished type of thing. any ideas?

Couldn't you just tell her at your next session that you think she's taken you as far as she can and now you feel you have the tools to deal with the situation or issue.

I would just say that something came over you and you think you are ready to venture out on your own for not without her assistance, and thank her because without her you would have gotten to the place you are at now!

This sounds good! Direct and polite!
