Ok, I've had it up to here!!

Alright. I get the whole fued between NY and Boston. But why do people INSIST on bringing up the Yankees whenever they find out I'm from NY??

What's worse?? I am FINALLY getting rid of my NY plates this weekend. It's been AWFUL every time I go to a gas station, there is always some classy guy standing there filling up his behind mine and asks "ahhhh ya a Yankee? Yah cahhhhhhh would suggest yah ahhh"

Thanks for the vent!

Was up in Boston a couple of weeks ago and they make it a point to wear these ridiculous "yankee hating" t-shirts. Do they realize that nobody here in NY could even give a schit about Boston or their silly red sock-wearing sissies?

I don't even care about baseball yet seeing all those shirts made me nutz!

Oh oh oh, my favorite Tee at the moment is the one that says

"There are only two teams, the Red Sox and whoever beats NY"

They don't make this big of a deal about the Patriots..

My sister gets it a lot! She transplanted to Waltham and Brighton a few years ago and has NY plates. I can ask her what her few witty replies are.

Chat Icon Chat Icon We tend to go up to Boston for my birthday a lot, which usually is during the World Series. So it was 2001 or 2002 and we went up to Boston, we were walking around Newbury street and DH has his Yankees hat on- not even thinking about it. People keep making comments to him, until he passes Billy Crystal- in his Yankee hat. People were quiet... for about 3 minutes.

Re: Ok, I've had it up to here!!

when I was in the OBX a few months ago- I over heard this from a waitress

"being called a yankee is the worst insult ever"

she was southern - but didn't sound it and they asked her is she was a yankee- and she was offended

me and my DH just started laughing

people were pretty rude to us with out NY plates- and people used to not let me change lanes in CO with NY plates either

so lame

Re: Ok, I've had it up to here!!

My parent's neighbor is a DIE HARD yankee fan. He's got original seats from Yankee stadium in his living room!

He took his son's to a Y/RS game at Fenway. They dressed in normal- non yankee clothing. They got out of the game and the WHOLE SIDE of his truck had been BASHED IN.

Lesson to be learned: NYers, don't go to a game at Fenway with your car. TAKE THE 'T'!!!

We stayed at a hotel in Boston last summer. Our rear car window was smashed in the hotel parking ramp. I'm not sure if it was baseball related but the Yankees were playing there that weekend. Chat Icon

We lived in Boston several years ago. When the Patriots won the Superbowl at the big celebration, Patriots fans were yelling "Yankee's S*ck" Chat Icon Couldn't even just have joy in their win - they had to be obsessed with a team playing a different sport! Chat Icon

DH was getting grief from some guys one night, razzing him about his Yankee's World Series T-shirt (this was before Boston won so they'd had a long losing streak). They asked if he had a whole closet full, to which he answered "No, I just buy them when they win..... Oh, I guess I do have a closet full. Well, you know what it's like..... Oh, I guess you don't......" Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon That shut them up!

I love this!!!

I went to a game at Fenway years ago. Some guy asked me how I got my tickets in a snotty way (they were good ones), they asked me if I was the press. I didn't answer. From then on, that guy didn't say boo to me. I think he was scared I would pan Boston fans.

I got my tickets from a broker like everyone else sitting in those seats..

I wore all of my Yankee gear. Why bother going if I didn't? DH just kept smiling the whole time. The Yanks won and the crowd was quiet.

As I got up to leave I said, well, thanks guys, I got my story.Chat Icon
