Prenatal vitamins
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! My med plan does not cover prenatal vitamins. No vitamins what so ever.
Did this happen to anyone else?

Re: Prenatal vitamins
wow im sorry! but my friend actaully told me she is taking prenatal vitamins they sell at target....i never knew they sold them like that but maybe you can ask your doctor if you can do something like that? she pays $8 for like 100 or something she said which is ALOT cheaper than mine even though insurance covers. Also maybe ask your doctor for free samples? i know i got a bunch from my doctor but they are a different brand then im taking

Re: Prenatal vitamins
My vitamins are 54.99. I am amazed that they are not covered. I will be at the doctor tomorrow so I will ask about the prenatal vitamins (Samples). Once I tell my mother in law her firend who works for a gyno maybe able to get them for me without a cost. She did that for my bc pills at one point.

Re: Prenatal vitamins
I used to take Target Brand prenatals, they were really inexpensive. They are the Generic brand of Stuart PreNatals.

Re: Prenatal vitamins
I took CVS brand prenatals. A bottle of 100 pills was $12.00. I brought them to my OB and he said it was the same make up as the prescription kind. I felt great, they didnt make me constipated, and I delivered a healthy 8 lb 10oz baby. HTH.

Re: Prenatal vitamins
I have great news for you(if you have a Walmart nearby).....Walmart just started a prescription plan where you can get most prescriptions, including prenatal vitamins for $4. If you just call Walmart and ask which prenatal vitamins they provide and get a prescription from your dr you can get a 30 day supply for $4 with as many refills as you need. Basically they just want to get people into the store to buy other stuff...but if you are anywhere near a Walmart this will help. You can do this with all other types of prescriptions as well.

Re: Prenatal vitamins
I never even got a prescription, my dr. just said find one I like over the counter. I actually ended up taking Flinstones vitamins because the prenatals made me sick. <-------------As you can see, my dd is fine

Re: Prenatal vitamins
Mine had a $60 copay, because they were a "new" brand, and there was no generic.
It's all the same, I'm sure- I would do either teh WalMart thing, or buy the OTC brands. The only reason you get a script for a specific type from your Dr. is becaus ethat particular rep took them out to lunch, or sent them to a Yankees game.
