has anyone ever hosted or been to a
cocktail party? what kind of food was served? i was thinking of doing one and wanted it simple..even just having a small martini menu, beer, wine..but what kind of food do you serve?

At my last party I had veggie crudite, cheeses w/ assorted crackers & breads, spinach dip, olives, I made stromboli and sliced that up and I also go this box of appitizers at BJ that you have to make in the oven. 
It was also a big hit that everything was silver. I bought assorted glass silver serving trays and platters, a silver/grey tablecloth, candle holders were silver w/ white candles. Maybe you can do some sort of theme

oh yea..a theme..didnt think of that..thanks..where did you get the cheese platter? do they have that stuff at costco/b.j's?

When we go to my wife’s aunts house we call it Costco Crazy Catering......
If you can't walk through Coctco or Bj's and get hors d’orves for a dinner party in like 5 minutes..... there's a problem.....

We did one - we had spinach dip, bruchetta, stuffed mushrooms, cheese and crackers, pigs in a blanket and some other hot appetizers (from Costco!), mini pizza's, quesadillas, and chips and pretzels.
