It has nothing to do with what type of Dr they are. It means they are a private company (or corporation, I can't remember which)
It is the same as when a law firm is "So and So, P.C."
ETA: If one was to sue this doctor, you'd sue the doctor himself and the P.C. to see if they had separate insurance.

It's part of the corporate name required by NY State for professional service corporations = abbreviated "PC"
