Some Young Celebs Don't Act the Part
Aug 17) – From 21-year-old Lindsay Lohan’s rehab-hopping to 25-year-old Britney Spears’ panty-flashing to Paris and Nicole's jail stints, it seems like the typical twenty-something star sells more tabloids than movie tickets. However, a handful of Hollywood golden girls have maintained a remarkably clean slate ... so far.
Anne Hathaway , 24, of "The Princess Diaries" and "The Devil Wears Prada" fame, for example, always shines in the positive limelight.
"I removed myself from the public eye," she explains in an interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer, "because I feel a really strong responsibility to my family ... I don't want my godmother to call me and to feel like I’ve disappointed her."
Scarlett Johannson, 22, Rachel Bilson, 24, and Natalie Portman , 26, similarly manage to have age-appropriate fun that doesn’t end with broken laws and busted reputations. Although their names and faces are plastered across newsstands, their track records remain free of the pending court cases and DUI dramas nearly inherent to their actress-alter egos.
Also keeping her distance from Tinseltown’s bad girl's club is 22-year-old Ashley Tisdale, star of the Disney Channel’s smash TV movie "High School Musical." The down-to-earth rising star was dubbed “The Anti-Paris” by TMZ -- a compliment of the highest tabloid degree.
Might Hollywood witness a return to normalcy if these actresses remain at the helm? Only time, continued sobriety and underwear sales will tell.
