Thank You to the Volunteer & Paid Emt/Ambulance
My brother is a volunteer for the ambulance. He was at a MVA last night where a 19 year old girl died.
I think it takes some really special people to be able to take on this responsibility of saving lives.
My heart and soul goes out to this young girls family & to all the volunteers who were there last night. I cannot imagine the toll it takes. I know it has got to be hard as hell when you come to an accident scene & know there is nothing you can even do

It is difficult at times, but can also be very rewarding. I am sorry your brother had to go to such a bad MVA. What dept is he with?

He is a volunteer for Sag Harbor. I guess whenever its an MVA, everyone who is on the squad is required to go to it, whether they are on call or not.

I admire your brother for volunteering at such a young age. It's not easy, that is for certain.
I think that the seriousness of what they do bonds them to each other so quickly. I still have a fondness for all the people who I volunteered with. We made up for the negative with a lot of positive things we did for each other and the community.
It's a wonderful thing he's doing. Not many people can handle being responsible for other people's lives. And balance caring about their patients without taking it all internally and hurting themselves.
Bravo to your brother. And bravo to you for thanking the people who so often get overlooked.
