It's the same principle as the guy that has to own a BMW. It is a 1989 with 200k miles, no a/c, bald tires and smokes but they can say they own a BMW.
I used to know a guy just like this- he just wanted the key to be able to show girls when he went out- so sad

The next time that I go off roading into the forest and decide to drive up a mountain, I might regret owning my BMW sedan and WISH I had bought the Hummer.  In the meantime I am  .

As long as it's AWD!! We had one that wasn't and we couldn't make it out of our flat driveway in the snow.

good point- my first Mercedes was like that- 1 flake- and I couldn't drive anyway
which is why I got the SUV

I've been tempted to buy a Rolls Royce. You can get a 1970s RR for under $10k. Who cares about the age, or relative condition... "I've got a RR"...

But I wouldn't want to ruin my bumper or the undercarriage of my BMW. That stuff is expensive.

Hahaha I knew this kid in high school that bought a 10k jaguar. It was a piece of crap and at the time my car was about 2.5 times more than his car but he got it for exactly that reason. "Jaguar that's how I roll".

Well, I drive a vehicle bigger than any of the Hummers (H1, H2 or H3). Only the H1 is of any use, but not around in these parts (Long Island.)
Even though I drive an Excursion, I see the H2 and H3 as a waste. They have no interior room/little cargo space and towing capacity is on the low end which basically renders them useless.
People crack me up when they pull up along side of me and yell at me for driving a "gas guzzler". I often wonder if they pull up to every pickup on the road to yell at them too considering I'm basically driving an F-250.
As for a Hummer running you off the road, it's not the vehicle...it's the driver.
As someone who also drives a large SUV and had an F250 before that, thank you. You pretty much summed up exactly what I was thinking.

I was actually looking at the H2 a few years ago but decided to purchase the 2006 Murano last year and OH my what a great choice............. cool and  fun and FAST

Totally agree. I'll admit that one of the few times I judge people by appearance--it's when I see them in one of those things. Not only does it scream "look at me", it screams "I could care less how big my carbon footprint is!"

I agree. I had one on loan when my car was in and it was horrible. It had the worst visibility and the interior was surprisingly small.
Not to mention they are butt @ss ugly.
