Not feeling any movement: UPDATE
Let me preface this by saying I felt this way before - not feeling any movement even after eating something sweet and having some orange juice and lying down for an hour- and went my OB, and had a sono and the little guy was moving all over the place.
But for some reason now that it's happening again, I'm starting to get really worried.
When I went to the doc the last time this happened (about 2 weeks ago) the baby was breech, and my doc said that may be why I'm not feeling his kicks.
Now it's Saturday and the office is closed until Monday.
What would you do? I feel so silly calling the doctor, but then again, what if something is wrong?
Does this happen to anyone here? The not feeling movement?
TIA!
UPDATE: Everything is fine! We went to the hospital and he's doing great. Thank you for your support!

Re: Not feeling any movement
how far are you?? When you get twords the end, you will feel less movement because the baby is getting bigger and not much room to move around

Re: Not feeling any movement
I think you would definitely feel better if you called, and don't feel silly for doing so. If you don't want to call, maybe go to BBB and get one of those $20 heart monitors to check.
Sometimes babies are not that active no matter how many sweets you eat.

Good idea. I think I'll get one, and then call my doctor.

Re: Not feeling any movement
At 27 weeks I didn't feel the baby for about 2 days. I felt silly about calling because it was the weekend. I couldn't handle it anymore and I called. The dr couldn't believe I didn't call sooner. She actually sat me down and had a talk with me about not feeling guilty about calling during off hours. She said 'I don't care if it's 3 in the morning! That baby takes priority.' She told me I should not have waited that long. (And that was after I had a scare a few weeks prior to that.) Baby was fine. So, please call!!!

Re: Not feeling any movement
I notice that my baby goes through days where he is a lot more active than other days. I think it also may have to do with your level of activity. I notice that when I have a full day of running around he is kicking a lot less.
Do not feel guilty calling, I agree with the other posters.

Re: Not feeling any movement
i wouldn't worry too much about it, i think it's normal to have some less active days. i know that my baby (who usually moves constantly) is sometimes quieter for a day, and it usually coincides with a growth spurt for me.
but at the same time, i wouldn't hesitate to call your doc if you're worried. that's the job of the doctor on call, no matter if it's nighttime or on the weekends. they'd rather see you call, and it be nothing, than have something concerning be going on.

Re: Not feeling any movement
I know I have had this problem too. She will be very active for a few days and then "take the next two days off" I call it. She doesn't respond to sweets either. You shouldn't worry as long as you are staying hydrated and eating well. If it really does bother you, give a call and they can hook you up to the monitor. GL

Re: Not feeling any movement
I am due around the same time as you and I have been feeling less movement as compared to previous weeks. If I didnt feel any movement at all, I would call. Dont feel silly, your concern is the health of your baby and I am sure all drs. understand that whether they like the 3 AM calls or not.

Re: Not feeling any movement
At 26 wks the movement I felt was not consistent AT ALL. In fact, if I was busy - I would go a whole day without noticing him move. At 28-32 wks the movement got more consistent and more pronounced. Now at 37 weeks I FINALLY, feel him all the time. Don't stress - I did and now I realize that everyone is different...I'm sure the baby is fine!

Re: Not feeling any movement
I think around 26 weeks the baby has some days where it is more active and other days where it is calm. It can also be the position the baby is turned in. I would definitley call to put your mind at ease.
ETA: I'm due the same day as you and today and yesterday alot of movement the days before hardly any. I'm sure everthing is fine

Re: Not feeling any movement
This happened to me when I went for my final appointment. I think it was because the baby was sleeping, but the doctor was concerned which is why he decided to induce me the next day. She started moving while I was in the hospital and I was being monitored, but they still decided to go forward with it. I'm really glad they did because it turns out she had pooped in me and the chord was wrapped around her neck.
I'm sure that's not the case with you..but try not to worry.

no, I kind of wish they did. I have low-lying placenta, I wonder if that's why?
