I FIXED IT!!!!

Holy Moly - after all the freakin drama with the dryer - I think I managed to fix the situation.

You would think that when they did the new install, they would actually check the vent on the outside and make sure that the flap that lets the hot air out is actually open.... Chat Icon

I guess it was a vent issue after all!

Maybe we didn't need to drop a few hundred on a new dryer after all. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: I FIXED IT!!!!

Wow. One one hand, congrats on being able to dry your laundry!

On the other hand, sorry that you spent that money on a new dryer!

What did you do with the old dryer? Maybe you could sell it on CraigsList or something?

You would think it would be that easy, right???

The old dryer is still sitting in our basement because it's too big to fit through the doorway at the top of the stairs. They must have assembled it in the basement. We have to take it apart in order to get it up and out.

What if you took that into account in the price? Half the price with the expectation that they need to take it apart and get it out themselves?

I've seen people do that with above ground pools. You never know, it might work. Chat Icon

Might I suggest you keep the second (original) dryer and use it? Think of it this way, drying takes double the time it takes to wash something so now you won't get backed up doing your laundry!

I know I would love to have a second dryer!

Congratulations on fixing the problem! I know this must have driven you nuts.

Can you hook up the old dryer and return the new one? I'm not sure what the return policy is, but it might be worth thinking about.
