looking for an inexpensive light fixture
I have family coming over next week and the light fixture in the spare bedroom is just a lightbulb in the middle of the ceiling. I want to paint the room and get a fixture. I already tried Lowes, HD, and Ikea with no luck. Are there any other places I can check?

Lowes, HD, and Ikea would be my first choices. If you don't like anything there, try a lighting store but you are going to pay more at those places.
