Rents are out of control

I'm looking for a 2 bedroom for my parents (with my brother) and I found good ones but they want $1800! then add utils?

Yikes!

I found one in Mineola with a realtor for $1700 with 2beds and 2baths for $1700. It includes heat. That may be worth it.

I hate paying realtors..no offense..it's just a ton of moolah.

I know..it's crazy. When DH and I were looking for a 2 bdm back in 2004 we decided to buy a 2 bdm house instead. The rent & mortgage we the same amount.

Good luck in your search!

Re: Rents are out of control

I pay $1850 for a 1 bedroom with electric

buildings are so much more then private houses- I am looking for a cheaper place in a house

I am doing it myself using the paper and craigs list- I am not paying the fee- it makes it cost almost $10K to move!

(first months, 2 months sercurity, RE Fee (1.5 times the rent in NYC) and then the movers- that's $10K!)

Yikes!

I've been looking all over and the rent is about that for 2 beds..but this one has two baths! Now that would be cool, but I don't want to pay the realtor!

Have you tried looking in the LI Catholic? I hear they have good apartment listings there, though I imagine they're mostly in private houses.

So crazy!! When we rented (14 years, mind you though) we paid $650 for a one bedroom, ground level apartment, everything included.

Re: Rents are out of control

We pay $1100 for a 2 bedroom 1 bath. It's the top floor of a house in Suffolk. We've been there for several years though (they don't raise the rent). It includes heat and water. We found it through a realtor. We had to pay an $1100 fee but considering they found such a good deal for us, it's paid for itself at this point. We looked in papers and so many of them turned out to be through realtors anyway.

I'm finding the nicer places are through realtors. UGHH...I don't want to pay them...

Seeing one tomorrow w/o a realtor and one with.

DH and I used to live in Mineola in The President on Mineola Blvd. It's a nice building but once our rent for a 1 bedroom went over $1400 we knew it was time to buy a house.

$1400 for a one bedroom...nuts..

well this is $1700 for a 2 bed 2 bath. This will be for three people and I think it's about right although I will try to negotiate.

Let's see if I even like it.
