I don't like putting myself on a timeline. I always hear of people saying, oh we'll stay 5 years and then 5 years come and go. It's a possibility that we might move somewhere down the line. If we decide to stay, our house is expandable.

we bought a small house that we will DEFINITLY outgrow.

But we could afford it now, AND its a great investment- we will definitely make a decent chunk of change off selling it, allowing a better upgrade to our "permanent" home.

We bought within our price range, a house that we could grow into instead of out of.

That said...I'd like to be in the house long enough to gain a pretty decent chunk of equity to be able to "upgrade" - move within the same area, different HS.

We too wanted a house we could grow into.
We ended up getting a smaller house w/ bigger property that can be expanded.
Because of the neighborhood, this will most likely be our until we retire home.

This is exactly what our thinking is right now. We need something we can afford, vs something that we are going to stay in forever.

I plan on being here 10 years. Dh plans on being here forever (which we can), so we'll see who wins! Chat Icon

Same with us. But if we have more than one child it will be difficult to stay here forever.
