Commuting help
Does anyone take the LIRR to Flatbush? If so, is the 2 or 3 train there to take into the city?
I'm trying to figure a better way from LI to downtown NYC.

Re: Commuting help
Love Flatbush. It's SO much easier than Penn to go to lower Manhattan. Whenever I go to court on Centre Street I always get off at Flatbush. The 2/3 and the 4/5 run there (Atlantic Avenue stop).

Yup. I used to work at 40 Wall Street and would take the 2/3 from Flatbus Ave to the Wall Street Stop.

Re: Commuting help
so here's the ? My ex-boss is making a huge play for me and she is employing all strategies.
She was in a meeting today with some colleagues and got them on speaker phone to help me navigate the commute.
They said the 2-3 to Park Place or Chambers will only be about 15 minutes.
One of her new colleagues offered to escort me personally for a tour of exactly how to navigate. They are really brown-nosing her big time.
Sp, its about a 10 minute walk from the subway to the building..
what do you think my total commute would be from Bethpage?

Re: Commuting help
I used to take the 7:32am out of Bethpage to Flatbush Ave. Took the 2 or 3 to Wall Street and was at work usually by 8:35. It wasn't bad at all.

Re: Commuting help
I used to go to the East Village and took the LIRR to either Flatbush or Penn - whichever did not require me to change trains.
If I were going further downtown, I would definitely go through Flatbush - it is less congested and crazy than Penn. The one thing I liked about Penn though, was if there were delays or problems, I could walk around or get something to eat to kill time - there's really nothing in the Flatbush station other than a news stand.
