microvaricocelectomy
For those who are familiar with microvaricocelectomy... Are there any real improvements in six months or a year?? I just found out that my brother and his wife are dealing with this MF . My brother told me he is scheduled to have the surgery. I feel so bad for them.. I know they really want to have a baby. I really have no idea about this subject but I hope them the best and I really wish this helps to improve his results. Can anyone give me any feedback, positive or not on this?? TIA

Re: microvaricocelectomy
My DH had it done in February..(bilateral) ..he is dealing with severe MF due to hormonal issues......varicoceles play a role in hormones that is why we opted for the surgery.....they might improve the pituitary-testicular axis and blood flow to the testicles...
DH had Grade III varicoceles the size of a penne pasta...very visible...the doctor said that with the size like that we should see great improvements....we will have a 6 month SA done in August...
The surgery can help but it could also make no difference...it is hit or miss...also the real improvements usually happen after 9 - 12 months....so the waiting sucks....
We will be going thru IVF in September if no major improvements....we don't want to wait any longer....
