Update on Me (Long) - UPDATE in first post
It's been a while since I've posted, but I've been having to keep my distancne from this and the TTC board although I do keep up the happenings of you wonderful ladies.
Today is CD97 of my cycle, and yesterday I want back to my doctor. There were a number of factors that kept me from going before hand, one of which being out sheer fear of what I would hear. Emotionally I haven't been dealing with all this too well, but I finally came to a point where I had to bite the bullet.
Over the course of the past 40 some odd days, I would get some spotting (would last like 5 minutes if that), but then would be encouraged that AF was on her way because I'd get crampy, beyotcher than normal, tender bbs, etc... and then nothing, she would not show. You should know that my doctors initial course of action was to see if AF would come naturally and to have me on the metformin to help me to ovulate naturally without the interference of fertility meds.
Well, the time has come to go to the meds....
She is convinced that my problem is that I am just plain not ovulating. I still have to go for an HSG ( ) when I finally get AF, but she is pretty sure it's not a blocked tube thing. She wants me to wait another month and if AF has not come naturally I am to take the Provera, and then the Clomid CD5-9. If and when I ovulate, she wants us to try to conceive naturally for that cycle. If I do not get pregnant, then we will do two cycles of IUI. If IUI doesn't work, she is sending me to RMA of NJ (the RE...same one that leighla was with, in fact she pointed me to this practice, and I couldn't be more thankful to her!)
I feel good in knowing there is a clear plan of action, but I felt like I had been hit by a truck yesterday. DH is wonderful, he is my rock, he is my hero. I have to say however, I think this also hit him with a big dose of reality. He came home last night and gave me the biggest hug and just said "We'll figure this out, but one way or other we will have our family"
Today is my sister's baby shower, I can be strong on the inside, and while I'm as excited as a pig in sh!t to be an auntie for the first time on my side of the family, it's tearing me apart inside. This is NOT going to be an easy day.
Thanks for listening to my ramblings.
UPDATE: CD99 AF IS HERE! I've never been so happy to see her! So, no provera for me! I will start Clomid on Friday and DH is thrilled he will be away on business during my time on it... he'll be away from the monster. I'm just so happy that AF came on her own!

Re: Update on Me (Long)
I know it is hard, but at least there is a plan of action for you! That is the most important part!
Don't be afraid of the HSG! It is uncomfortable but not horrible (unless you have a blocked tube) Just take some advil before hand.
All the best and know that we are here for you!

Re: Update on Me (Long)
to you. I know the baby shower thing can be hard, but do what you can, and if it gets too much, take a moment to be by yourself.
THe HSG is not a terrible thing. It was not painful for me at all, and hopefully you'll be telling the same story.
The dr's have given you a plan of action, and that's defenitely a good thing, so for that I wish you lots of luck.
FM me if you need to talk.

CD97
Today will be tough and like Suzy said if it all gets to much take a minute for yourself.
The HSG isn't too bad, just take some painkillers before hand. It's good that you have a plan in place also.
Sorry your having a crappy time

Good luck at the shower...I'm sure it's going to be a double edged sword.
It's good to have a plan of action - it will make you feel better in the long run.
I wish you nothing but the best of luck and hope this journey ends very soon for you.

Re: Update on Me (Long)
Best of luck to you...I remember that sinking feeling when I knew it wasn't going to happen without medical help. It does get better though and having a plan can help you feel more in control of the situation. We seem to be in a similar boat (just finished my first round of Provera and I'm starting Clomid after AF appears). I wish you all the best.
